Paolo Manzo DDS, MSc Orthod, Ph.D

President elect of Italian Academy of Orthodontics (AIdOR)

Dr. Manzo graduated cum laude in Dentistry in 1997, with a thesis on occlusion and posture correlations. After graduation, he followed a training program focused on both traditional and lingual orthodontics. In 2004, he obtained his Specialist in Orthodontics certificate with honors. Then in 2007, he earned a PhD in Oral Sciences from the University of Naples “Federico II”. From 2008 to 2016, he was an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of Naples “Federico II”, where he currently works as a Clinical Instructor at the School of Orthodontics. He’s currently Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of Trieste. 

He is a Member of the Italian Board of Orthodontics (I.B.O.) from 2007, of the European Board of Orthodontics (E.B.O.) from 2011 and of the European Board of Lingual Orthodontics (E.B.L.O.) from 2014. 

He is President elect of Italian Academy of Orthodontics (AIdOR) for 2020. He is President of Leading Alliance Society. He was a Board Member of the Italian Dental Association from 2010-2014 and of the European Federation of Orthodontics from 2011-2015. In 2016, he was Scientific Coordinator of AIdOR—the Italian Academy of Orthodontics. 

Dr. Manzo is an international speaker. He has lectured worldwide at courses, masters, and congresses on a wide range of topics including: multidisciplinary treatments, lingual orthodontics, torque management with variable prescriptions, finishing, biomechanics and skeletal anchorage, II class malocclusions and complex treatments of dental anomalies. Furthermore, he has held several workshops for Italian and foreign doctors and currently runs in-office courses on lingual technique with Self-Ligating Lingual system, Biomechanics and Straight Wire technique. He is author and co-author of seven awardwinning scientific presentations and he has also presented over 30 scientific posters at national and international congresses and published several papers in international peer-reviewed journals. 

He started his own private practice in 2000 and in 2015 he converted his private office into a high tech clinic involving a wide group of doctors. 

His clinical work is limited to orthodontics and cranio-mandibular disorders and, through the coordination of a group of highly specialized doctors, he can manage interdisciplinary and complex treatments.
